FAQ

Questions, answered

The things SMEs ask us most — pricing, data, governance, timelines and how we work. Still unsure? Book a free consultation and we'll talk it through.

What does it cost?

Discovery is £2,500–£7,500, Infrastructure Deployment £7,500–£35,000+, Training & Governance £1,000–£3,000 per workshop, and Managed AI Operations from £1,000/mo on a minimum 12-month term. Or start small with a £500 AI Opportunity Sprint (half-day). Use the pricing estimator for an indicative figure for your size and mix of services — the final fee is always confirmed in writing before any work begins.

Can it run on our own servers? Is our data safe?

Yes. We deploy local-first or hybrid so sensitive data stays under your control, with human-in-the-loop oversight by default and full audit trails. We build on proven open components rather than locking you into a single vendor's cloud.

How do you handle UK GDPR?

Governance is built in, not bolted on. We help you set a lawful basis and clear purpose for any personal data, prefer tools that don't train on your inputs, keep a record of which tools touch personal data, and put human approval on automated decisions. Training & Governance covers the UK GDPR essentials for AI.

We already use ChatGPT — why do we need you?

Ad-hoc ChatGPT use is a great start, but it isn't an operational capability: it's not integrated with your systems, governed, monitored, or improving over time. We install the stack, connect it to your workflows and data, add oversight and audit trails, and run it so it gets better every month — without you hiring an AI team.

How long does it take?

Discovery is typically 2–3 weeks and produces a costed 6–12 month roadmap. A first deployment is usually 6–8 weeks depending on scope, confirmed up front. Managed Operations is continuous — your capability improves every month rather than decaying after launch.

What access do you need to our systems?

Only what a given piece of work requires, granted on a least-privilege basis and documented. Agents run with scoped permissions and human approval on sensitive actions, and everything is logged so you can see exactly what was done.

Why a minimum 12-month term on Managed Operations?

Because most AI projects fail after launch, not before. A 12-month managed-service relationship keeps us accountable for outcomes — monitoring, governing and improving the stack — rather than handing over a system that quietly decays. It also keeps the monthly cost far below a £60k+ in-house AI hire.

What if our needs change, or we want to stop?

The roadmap is reviewed monthly and we add or retire agents as your needs evolve. At the end of the term you own the documented, running capability; we'll talk through continuing, scaling back, or a clean handover well before renewal.

How are you different from an agency, a freelancer, or hiring in-house?

We don't sell hours — we sell outcomes, governance and ongoing value through a managed-service relationship, and we run the same stack internally. You get a single accountable partner for the whole capability, broader expertise than one hire, and a system that's operated and improved, not just built and abandoned.

How do we get started?

Take the free AI Readiness Assessment (about three minutes, no signup to start), then book a free 30-minute consultation. We'll come to the call already knowing your score and weakest areas, so we go straight to what matters — usually a paid Discovery as the first engagement.

Not sure where you stand?

The free AI Readiness Assessment scores you 0–100 in three minutes and recommends the next step. No signup to start.
