The challenge

Trading psychology is a category poisoned by its own marketing: signals, profit promises, P&L screenshots and rented Lamborghinis. Trueflow in Action wanted to stand in that space selling the opposite — honest performance-psychology education built on real flow research. In that position credibility is the product, one over-claim destroys it, and "we'll be careful with the wording" is not a control. Compliance had to be structural, not editorial.

And it couldn't be a brochure. The model needs a working funnel: diagnose the visitor (a scored quiz), give genuine value free (practical tools), then earn the course sale — surrounded by articles, meditations, a challenge, coaching and a podcast. That's a real content product with its own brand, distinct from both CIA and its sibling travel site, and it needed a signature visual that says "flow science" without a single stock photo.

The delivery test was the sharpest we've run: the client side of this was a written V4 implementation pack — master spec, website copy, build spec, quiz and tools definitions, compliance playbook. Could CIA turn a complete spec pack into a complete working site in a single focused day, without the usual quality trade?

What we built

We built it Astro-first for speed and permanence: static pages with Tailwind design tokens, small Preact islands only where interactivity earns its keep (the quiz, the forms), and self-hosted fonts — Fraunces for display, Inter for body, Space Mono for labels. The brand is its own ink/aqua/amber system, and the signature is The Channel: Csikszentmihalyi's challenge–skill diagram drawn live, a flow band between Anxiety and Boredom with an aqua line that draws itself on load and drifts at idle — dropping to a static line when the visitor prefers reduced motion.

The funnel does the selling. A 13-question Flow Profile quiz scores visitors across axes into a named archetype; four free tools — an overthinking scorecard, a pre-session reset, a trading flow journal and a weekly review — deliver value before any pitch; and the 'Into the Zone' course page, a 7-day challenge, four long-form articles, four guided meditations, coaching and podcast pages complete the ecosystem. Twenty-plus routes, 42 Astro components and pages, ~6,600 lines of source.

Compliance is enforced from one source of truth: the disclaimer block lives in a single data file and renders verbatim on every trading-adjacent surface, so the honest positioning cannot drift page by page. The bright lines are absolute — no profit promises, no signals, no P&L, no earnings testimonials, no medical claims. Consent is double-opt-in and unticked by default; leads and quiz results append to a local, git-ignored data store until an email provider is wired; and there's a written erasure runbook for data-deletion requests.

The outcome

What exists is a complete, working education funnel under its own finished brand: quiz scoring through to result archetypes, all four tools interactive, course and challenge pages live, articles and meditations published, every compliance page in place — running end to end as a production build.

The governance posture is the differentiator: single-source disclaimers that can't drift, double-opt-in consent, local-first lead storage and a documented erasure path. We'll be honest about where it stands: the email provider is a deliberate seam not yet wired, and the site is a launch-ready build awaiting deployment — the funnel, the brand and the compliance are done.

The headline is the delivery: a five-document spec pack went in, and a complete branded funnel came out the same day. Commissioned cold, a content site of this scope — brand system, scored diagnostic, four interactive tools, course infrastructure, compliance review — is an indicative £25k–£45k agency engagement over six to ten weeks.
